The origin of this beautiful Dark Walnut lies in the town of Bergen in North Holland. This wooded dune area boasts a great diversity of tree species, ranging from abundant conifers in the dunes to strong ancient hardwoods at the forest's edge. This dark walnut, also known as Juglans Nigra, is approximately 70 years old. The supporting structure is crafted from olive ash, a characteristic of the heartwood of an aged ash tree. The heartwood displays a dark pattern reminiscent of olive wood, hence the name olive ash.
